New Rural Poll Results

Rural voters care about the issues at stake in this election and are enthusiastic to turn out.

Our recent polling shows most rural voters have made up their minds, and they report strong enthusiasm for turning out. Rural voters of color, who face some of the most intense voter suppression tactics, are especially motivated to turn out. Maybe that’s why, after the economy, jobs and inflation, threats to democracy ranked second highest among rural voter concerns.

Rural Viewpoints

• An overwhelming 77% of rural likely voters oppose abortion bans — identical to results in our March survey.
• A plurality of rural voters’ (41%) top concerns are the economy, jobs, and inflation. Coming in second, 14% percent of rural voters named threats to democracy as their highest priority, followed by immigration (8%) and programs like Social Security and Medicare (7%).
• More rural voters favor an economic approach that centers working people, lowering costs and raising wages, framed according to the Winning Jobs Narrative, especially women, young voters, and voters of color.
